The Roost Farm is a charming family farm with a storied history, peaked on the top of the hill in Dalrymple, Ontario.
Committed to producing good, ethical, wholesome food that is grown with environmental sustainability and integrity at the core of its operations, they offer a fully immersive experience where participants can make their own syrup from start to finish.
Choose a one-day experience or make it a package deal with an official Kawartha Lakes Signature Experience weekend stay in their new glamping cabin. The package features a two-night maple syrup-themed glamping experience that allows you to make your own syrup and taffy, learn about traditional and modern syrup-making techniques, and explore a working sugar bush. Tend the fire, tour the farm, explore the trails, and relax in nature during this unique experience.

Maple Weekend shows you how Ontario maple products are made, from tree to table, and lets you taste and buy quality maple products. The weekend is a complete celebration of the talented maple sugar producers throughout the province that make high-quality, delicious products.
Many producers throughout the region offer free samples of fresh maple syrup and confections. Enjoy pancake breakfasts, sugarbush trails, sugar making demonstrations, taffy on snow, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and more.
Hosted by the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers’ Association, there are a number of local syrup producers who participate in this special event.

Regular participants in Maple Weekend, the producers at Rainbow Woods offers free tours to their sugar shack and the chance to experience the syrup-making process. Wood fired in small batches, they produce Ontario Grade A, flavours from ‘mild’ to ‘robust,’ packed in glass bottles.
Outside of Maple Weekend, visitors to this Kirkfield farm can drop in or call ahead to visit during maple production season for a sugar bush tour and educational process demonstration.
Explore this beautiful working farm by exploring the trails, visiting with the sheep, and learning more about homesteading. Contact the owners to coordinate an educational forest walk to learn more about the trees and unique elements of the property.
Clancey & Gale’s Maple Products is located in Pontypool, Ontario and has been producing local maple syrup since 2011.
Since 2012, they have been collecting sap using pipelines, with the number of taps growing over the years to 2,200 taps. Thirty percent of their maple sap is trucked back to our sugar house; the balance is pumped directly to their holding tanks at their sugar house.
Regular participants in Maple Weekend, they offer pre-booked tours that includes a trip to the sugar shack and an opportunity to taste the different syrups over pancakes or waffles. If you can't make it up for the festival, you can pre-order their maple products for curbside pick-up to bring a taste of the Kawarthas home.

Located just outside the village of Millbrook, Puddleduck farms has produced delicious, sweet maple syrup from their sugar bush since they took over the maple syrup production in 2011.
With approximately 2,300 taps put in each year, their whole sugar bush uses a vacuum pipeline system, where the sap is drawn from the spile down through the pipeline to a holding tank. Using a reverse osmosis system to concentrate the sap and reduce boiling time, the sap is processed in a wood fired evapourator.
The end product is used to make maple butter, maple sugar candies, and granulated maple sugar. Stop by the farm during syrup season to see the sugar making process and taste the flavours of the season.
