Transportation

The City of Kawartha Lakes offers a limited Municipal Transit System; buses are located in Lindsay only. Additionally, there are private taxi companies servicing the Lindsay area as well as the larger community centres. In general, automotive transportation is required. 

Transportation via boat is another option through the use of the Trent Severn Waterway.

Lindsay Transit

Lindsay Transit operates two routes—Green and Red. Each service operates in one direction around town only. For more information call 705-324-3331

The current transit fares are:

  • $1.50 - Adults
  • $1.25 - Students and Seniors
  • $0.75 - Ages 5 - 14
  • Free - Under 5 (as of July, 2009)

Airport

The Lindsay Airport is located a half a mile east of Lindsay on Highway 35 North. This registered aerodrome is a certified Airport for recreational purposes only with a full service restaurant on site. The Lindsay Airport is also home to the Kawartha Lakes Flight Centre.
